A stunning home that evokes the romance of the gilded age. Located in the oldest section of the historic district, 15 Bridge Street is a showcase example of architectural tradition. From the sweeping porches to the chimney top this 1888 home will charm and delight you. Many beautiful spaces give choices of where you will spend your time; music room, living room, balcony with Bayfront views. Bountiful gardens and fountains surround this home with tranquility. It began as the traditional Victorian style guest house to 11 Bridge Street, built by the Comtesse de Montjoye in 1888. According to local lore, Henry Flagler designed both buildings. The house's second life began not long after its creation. By the beginning of the 1900s, it had become an apartment building with 4 units. It remained an apartment building for many years and at one point in its life even received a facelift. Like many other historic homes in the downtown area during the late 1950s and early 1960s, the facade was changed from Victorian to Spanish Colonial style. In 2008, the building began its third life when its new owner/builder and archetect Donald A Crichlow completely reinvisioned it as a single family Spanish Victorian home. The house was rebuilt with meticulous care with no expense spared. New systems were added resulting in a new "old" house. The extensive woodwork was custom designed and milled from local cypress by true artisans. The result is a beautiful carefully crafted home that feels old, but lives new.
